Cornelia Niesenbacher

Cornelia Niesenbacher (born September 5, 1971 in Graz ) is an Austrian politician of the Austrian People's Party (ÖVP). She has been a member of the Styrian state parliament since December 17, 2019 .

Life

Cornelia Niesenbacher attended HBLA Schrödinger Graz and trained as an office clerk, hotel and catering assistant and broker. She is a certified insurance saleswoman and qualified mediator. From 1989 to 1991 she worked for the Gaulhofer company , then for the Heidenbauer Metallbau company. From 1993 to 2010 she worked for an insurance agency or an insurance company, interrupted by a stay abroad or parental leave from 1998 to 2005. Since 2010 she has been an independent insurance broker. In 2011 she started building the Italian specialty restaurant Da Maurizio , which she runs in Bruck an der Mur . Niesenbacher lives in Kapfenberg and is the mother of a son.

politics

In 2017, Niesenbacher became the district chairwoman of women in business in the Bruck-Mürzzuschlag district , and she is also a member of the regional office committee of the Bruck-Mürzzuschlag regional office of the Styrian Chamber of Commerce . In the 2019 state elections , she ran for 18th place on the state list and fifth in the state electoral district 4 (Upper Styria). On December 17, 2019 she was at the beginning of the XVIII. Legislative term as Member of the Landtag Styria sworn in , where it acts in the Austrian People's Party parliamentary club as a spokesperson for tourism. Other focal points of work are relieving the workload on businesses, measures to combat the dying out of taverns and strengthening the rural region.
