Gaulhofer is one of the largest providers of industrially manufactured windows and doors in Austria . The company's headquarters are in Übelbach, Styria .

history

In 1919 Karl Gaulhofer founded a joinery and furniture maker in the Adriach near Frohnleiten in Styria . The industrial production of standard windows and front doors began there in 1963. In 1972 Gaulhofer took over a closed company site in Übelbach; three years later, the company's focus was relocated to Übelbach. In 1987 the company succeeded in taking over the window company Gächter in Mäder in Vorarlberg , which was then expanded into a production facility for plastic windows . At the end of the 1980s, the company employed around 650 people at its Frohnleiten, Übelbach and Mäder locations. In 2000, a plant in Pichl near Wels was acquired. Since then, Gaulhofer has been one of the largest providers in Europe . In 2004 the sales subsidiary Gaulhofer Vertrieb GmbH & Co KG, windows and doors, was founded in Übelbach. In April 2015, a sales partnership took place with Pella, the second largest window manufacturer in the USA.

Gaulhofer Industrie-Holding GmbH employs around 550 people (as of 2011) at the two locations in Übelbach in Styria and Mäder in Vorarlberg . More than 240,000 window and door units are manufactured in the production facilities every year. The company's headquarters in Übelbach have specialized in the manufacture of windows made from the natural material wood and wood-aluminum. The production in Mäder concentrates on windows and doors made of plastic and plastic-aluminum.

Sales and Markets

In 2012 Gaulhofer exported 38% of its production. The company's main export markets include Germany and Switzerland . The younger markets have included Italy since 2006 and France since the beginning of 2008 . Secondary markets such as Russia , England and North America are mainly supplied with wood and wood-aluminum windows.

In 2010, 'S&S Quality Windows Sales' was integrated into Gaulhofer Industrie-Holding GmbH.

In 2008, Gaulhofer was number four in the Austrian window industry (behind Internorm , Josko and Actual ) with a market share of 6.1 percent. The industry is highly fragmented: there are (2008) 250 to 400 manufacturers in Austria and 80,000 manufacturers in Europe.

Products

The product range includes windows, French doors, house entrance doors and sun and insect protection systems. A special focus is on energy saving products. In its production, Gaulhofer only uses domestic wood species such as spruce and larch wood (alpine larch) from sustainably managed forest companies.

Awards

Gaulhofer has been awarded the RAL quality mark several times as well as the Ökoprofit environmental prize and the Styrian environmental prize.

Sponsorship

Gaulhofer has been active as a sponsoring partner in Austrian professional sport since 2006. In 2009 Gaulhofer started its cooperation with the active professional ski athletes Romed Baumann and Hannes Reichelt . After Lanzinger's accident in March 2008 at the World Cup race in Kvitfjell, Norway and the associated end of his professional sports career, a new advertising collaboration developed between Matthias Lanzinger and Gaulhofer . This was continued after Lanzinger's entry into disabled sports in winter 2011/12. I.a. the athlete appeared in a Gaulhofer TV spot.
