Internorm is a brand of the Austrian window and door manufacturer "Internorm International GmbH" with headquarters in Traun . The company is run as a family business in the 3rd generation.

Internorm sells its products with more than 1,300 selected sales partners in 21 countries. In 2019 a total turnover of 371 million was achieved. 58% of sales are achieved in export.

history

The history of the window manufacturer Internorm begins with the establishment of a building and construction metalworking shop by Eduard Klinger senior. in 1931. In the following years Eduard Klinger sen. expand his company from a one-man operation to a medium-sized metal construction company. In 1963 Eduard Klinger sen. the license for the construction of plastic windows in Austria. At that time, plastic was hardly used in Austria.

The company began producing PVC-U windows under the "Internorm" brand in 1966. The first production site was today's headquarters in Traun in Upper Austria . Eduard Klinger Sr. involved in 1967 his children Eleonore, Eduard jun. and Helmut at the company. Under the management of the second generation, Internorm developed into the Austrian market leader in the window market. The rapid growth of the company required another production site , which Internorm found by acquiring a window manufacturer in Sarleinsbach in 1977.

A third location for the production of plastic windows was opened in 1980 in St. Andrä-Wölker in Lower Austria . In 1993 this plant was closed again and sales for Eastern Austria were reorganized. Eduard Klinger Strasse in the local industrial area, named after the company founder, is still a reminder of the production site at that time. The former factory is now the seat of many small businesses and an office center.

In 1997 the second generation of the Klinger family withdrew from the operative business of the window manufacturer Internorm. The management of the company was now the responsibility of their children, Anette Klinger, Christian Klinger and Stephan Kubinger.

In 2002 Internorm founded the "International Window Network IFN" as a new umbrella company for all corporate companies. The “Internorm” brand was made independent as a separate business area.

In 2007 the first Internorm flagship store was opened in Pasching . In Austria, further flagship stores followed in Vienna and Innsbruck .

In June 2010 the management of the Internorm International division changed from Silvio Spiess to the owner Christian Klinger and at the front door manufacturer Topic (Sarleinsbach) in January 2012 from Bernhard Bohusch to Stephan Kubinger from the owner family.

From 2012 Internorm introduced a number of innovations and technologies under the name "I-tec".

In 2019 Internorm reported over 25 million window and door units produced.

Internorm has its own sales offices in the sales markets of Austria , Germany , Switzerland , Italy , France , Slovenia , Croatia , Hungary , the Czech Republic , Slovakia and Great Britain . Thanks to a two-tier sales system, the Austrian products are sold across Europe through more than 1,300 sales partners in the markets mentioned as well as in Luxembourg , Liechtenstein , Belgium , Romania , Poland , the Netherlands , Greece , Ireland , Spain and Russia . All products are manufactured in three factories, all of which are located in Austria.

Internorm produces and sells windows, doors and matching accessories. In the case of windows, the focus is on plastic windows, plastic / aluminum windows and wood / aluminum windows. Internorm manufactures aluminum doors, wood / aluminum doors and lift and slide doors in the doors sector. The range of accessories includes sun protection , insect protection , glasses and window and door handles.

The product portfolio is marketed in four design styles: studio, home pure, home soft and ambiente.

In 2012 Internorm launched a series of technologies that are marketed as additional products under the name I-tec. These include a new type of hardware system with invisible locking and higher security, a ventilation system integrated into the window, an energy-independent shading system for composite windows, as well as the patented all-round gluing of the window frame to the glass pane. With an intelligent building control system, Internorm products can be controlled using a tablet or smartphone.

Locations

The headquarters of the international window network (IFN) and “Internorm International GmbH” are located in Traun . All central areas, the board of directors and administration are located here. In addition to insulating glass and safety glass production, special plastic products such as round and sloping windows as well as composite windows, plastic / aluminum windows, aluminum shutters and aluminum house doors are manufactured in Traun .

The plant in Sarleinsbach was opened in 1977. Internorm is the largest employer in this region with around 700 employees. More than 2,700 PVC and PVC / aluminum windows are manufactured here every day. The plant is also one of the largest glass producers in Upper Austria.

In the Lannach plant , which has existed since 1982, Internorm's wood / aluminum products are manufactured, primarily with wood from Styria. Around 400 people are employed at this location.
