Gerald Holler

Gerald Holler (born November 13, 1973 ) is an Austrian politician of the Austrian People's Party (ÖVP). He has been a member of the Styrian state parliament since December 17, 2019 .

Life

education and profession

After finishing elementary and secondary school in Wildon, Holler attended the Agricultural Trade School Grottenhof-Hardt . He completed an advanced course at the HAK Monsbergergasse in Graz , passed the examination to become an agricultural master and in 1995 the state examination for forestry service. He completed a degree in business administration with a focus on marketing at the Hamburger Fern-Hochschule as a Bachelor of Arts. From 1994 to 2000 he was an employee at Styriabrid. He has been a commercial employee and farmer since 2000. Holler is married and has two children.

politics

From 2000 to 2011 he was a member of the municipal council in Stocking , where he was the local farmers' association chairman from 2009. In 2014 he became chairman of the farmers' union in the Leibnitz district and chairman of the Leibnitz district chamber for agriculture and forestry. He has been the ÖVP district chairman in the Leibnitz district since 2017 and ÖVP local party chairman in Wildon since 2018 .

In the 2019 state elections , he ran for 25th place on the state list and fourth in state electoral district 3 (West Styria). On December 17, 2019, he was appointed at the constitutive session of the XVIII. Legislative term as Member of the state parliament of Styria sworn in . In the ÖVP state parliament club, he acts as the area spokesman for petitions and senior citizens. Other focal points are the labeling of the origin of food and the development of the infrastructure. In 2020 he handed over the office of chairman of the Leibnitz Chamber of Agriculture to Christoph Zirngast.
