Maximilian Beier (born October 17, 2002 in Brandenburg an der Havel ) is a German football player . The striker is under contract with TSG 1899 Hoffenheim and is a young German national player.

Career

Beier played in his hometown for the district club ESV Kirchmöser as well as for the Brandenburger SC Süd 05 , before he switched to the elite school of Energie Cottbus and finally, at the age of 15, to the youth training center of TSG 1899 Hoffenheim . With the club's B-youth team, the striker was awarded second place in the Bundesliga South / Southwest season in the 2018/19 season and top scorer with 18 goals at the end of the season.

For the following season Beier was appointed to the A-Juniors squad and quickly developed into a regular player. After sitting on the bench under head coach Alfred Schreuder once in the Bundesliga and in the DFB-Pokal , the attacker came on the field for Robert Skov in the 0: 1 in Freiburg on matchday 21 of the 2019/20 season just before the end . At the age of 17, 3 months and 23 days, he replaced Niklas Süle as the youngest Hoffenheim Bundesliga player to date.

National team

Beier took part in the 2019 European Championship in Ireland with Germany's U17s and scored one goal; However, Germany was eliminated in the group stage.
