Political career

Triller has been a member of the Ring Freedom Youth (RFJ) since 2002 . He was the initiator of the re-establishment of the RFJ district group Leoben, of which he was chairman for years. Since 2007 he has been deputy chairman of the RFJ-Styria and since March 2013 deputy chairman of the federal RFJ.

For the 2013 National Council election , Triller was nominated as the top candidate of the RFJ-Styria, but was not elected to the National Council as ninth on the state list .

On March 22nd, he led the FPÖ in the 2015 municipal council elections in his home municipality as the top candidate with a gain of 13.40 to 17.60 percent. He moved himself and two other FPÖ mandataries to the local council after the party was not represented in the local council in 2005 and 2010. Triller laid the basis for this success in November 2014 with the establishment of a joint FPÖ local group Niklasdorf / Proleb .

For the 2015 state elections , Triller was placed in second place on the FPÖ's list of candidates behind club chairman Hannes Amesbauer in constituency 4 (Upper Styria). About 15 percent of the votes were forecast for entry into the state parliament . After the FPÖ concluded the state elections in constituency 4 with 26.43 percent of the votes behind the SPÖ in second place, Triller was elected as a mandate. He was sworn in on June 16, 2015.

In February 2016, Triller was elected district party chairman of the FPÖ Leoben, replacing the long-time chairman and former member of the National Council Udo Grollitsch .

In the state parliament, Triller was a member of the committees for infrastructure (waste, sewage, energy, security, telecommunications, transport, water), control , constitution (constitution, service law, agreements and international treaties, incompatibility and immunity, administration, administrative reform) and emergency situations.

Triller has been chairman of the control committee in the Styrian state parliament since January 9, 2018, after his predecessor Mario Kunasek became Federal Minister for National Defense.

Triller is currently a social, control and defense spokesman and a member of the committees for social issues (labor market, consumer protection, senior citizens and integration), control and Europe (European integration and development policy).
