Claudia Klimt-Weithaler (born February 1, 1971 in Fohnsdorf ) is an Austrian politician ( KPÖ ). She has been a member of the Styrian state parliament since 2005 and since March 1, 2010, the chairwoman of the KPÖ state parliament club.

Life

Klimt-Weithaler is a kindergarten teacher and worked in youth work and adult education. In addition, until February 2010 she was in charge of the “Modellino” crèche in Graz . Klimt-Weithaler lives in Graz, is divorced and has two daughters. She comes from a communist family and ran for third place in the 2005 state elections in the KPÖ state nomination . As a result, she was sworn in on October 25, 2005 as a member of Parliament in Styria.

After the announced departure of the Styrian KPÖ boss Ernst Kaltenegger at the end of the legislative period, Claudia Klimt-Weithaler was elected by the state executive as the top candidate in the Styrian state elections in 2010 . Since March 1, 2010 she has been the club chairwoman of her parliamentary group. Like all other KPÖ MPs, she waives more than half of her income, which she makes available to a social fund.

In the Styrian state elections on September 26, 2010, Klimt-Weithaler ran for the first time as a top candidate for the KPÖ. In the election, the KPÖ lost two seats, but returned to the state parliament with parliamentary groups. This position was held in the early election of the state parliament in May 2015. In the state elections on November 24, 2019, Klimt-Weithaler ran again as the top candidate of the KPÖ and achieved the second-best result of her party with 5.99 percent.
