Julia Majcan (born November 13, 1994 in Feldbach ) is an Austrian politician for the Austrian People's Party (ÖVP). She has been a member of the Styrian state parliament since December 17, 2019 .

Life

After primary and secondary school in Bad Radkersburg, Julia Majcan attended the college for business professions in Mureck , where she graduated in 2014 . She then began studying business administration at the University of Graz , which she completed in 2018 as a Bachelor of Science. She then began a master's degree in management at the Vienna University of Economics and Business . In 2019 she completed a semester abroad at EDHEC Business School in Lille , France .

Her father Josef Majcan is the regional head of the Leibnitz Chamber of Commerce , her uncle Alexander Majcan is the district captain of the Southeast Styria district .

politics

Majcan engaged while studying at the Karl-Franzens-University of Graz in the Student Union as a study representative of Management and deputy chairman of the Faculty Representation of Social and Economic Sciences. Since 2017 she has been chairwoman of the Uni Management Club (Uni MC) of the Styrian Economic Association and organizational officer of the Young People's Party (JVP) in Bad Radkersburg . Since October 2019 she has been a member of the district board of the ÖVP Südoststeiermark.

In the 2019 state elections , she ran for twelfth place on the state list and fifth in state electoral district 2 (Eastern Styria). On December 17, 2019 she was at the beginning of the XVIII. Legislative term as Member of the Landtag Styria sworn in , where it acts in the Austrian People's Party parliamentary club as a spokesperson for Youth, Labor and the disabled.
