Valentine Kalumba

Valentine Kalumba OMI (born January 17, 1967 in Mufulira , Zambia ) is a Zambian religious and Roman Catholic Bishop of Livingstone .

Life

Valentine Kalumba studied from 1994 at the seminaries in Mpima and Lusaka . In January 2001 he entered the novitiate of the Huenfeld Oblates and made perpetual profession on February 20, 2002 . On October 22, 2005, he received the sacrament of ordination .

In addition to various tasks in the order and in pastoral care, he was director of the order's own radio station in Mongu from 2011 to 2014 . He then worked for a year as an economist at the Philosophy Training Center in Ouagadougou . In addition, he has been Vice Delegate of the Zambian Oblates since 2011 and pastor in the Diocese of Kabwe since 2014 .

Pope Francis appointed him Bishop of Livingstone on June 18, 2016 . The episcopal ordination received his his predecessor Raymond Mpezele on 3 September of the same year. Co- consecrators were the Bishop of Chipata , George Cosmas Zumaire Lungu , and the Bishop of Kabwe , Clement Mulenga .
