The Diocese of Livingstone ( Latin Dioecesis Livingstonensis , English Diocese of Livingstone ) is in Zambia situated Roman Catholic diocese based in Livingstone . It covers part of the southern province .
history
Pope Pius XI founded the Apostolic Prefecture Victoria Falls with the Bull Quo in Rhodesiae Septentrionalis on May 25, 1936 from cession of the Apostolic Prefecture Broken Hill . With the Apostolic Constitution Si qua enascens on March 10, 1950, she was raised to the rank of Apostolic Vicariate .
With the Apostolic Constitution Cum christiana fides on April 25, 1959 it was raised to the rank of diocese, which was subordinate to the Archdiocese of Lusaka as a suffragan . It lost part of its territory on June 14, 1997 in favor of the Mongu diocese .
