Werner Breithuber (born October 10, 1951 in Sankt Ulrich, municipality of Sankt Andrä ) is an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ) and civil servant. Breithuber was a member of the Styrian Landtag from 2003 to 2015 . From 1976 to 2012 he was on the local council of Seiersberg , from 1995 to February 29, 2012 as mayor.

After attending compulsory school, Breithuber learned to be a car mechanic and then completed a non-commissioned officer training course with the Austrian Armed Forces. Breithuber is an official of the Federal Ministry for National Defense, but due to his political career has been decommissioned without any pay.

From 1982 he became politically active as a councilor in Seiersberg , held the office of vice mayor between 1985 and 1995 and finally took over the office of mayor in 1995. Since April 8, 2003, he also represented the SPÖ in the state parliament and was area spokesman for security and emergency organizations of the SPÖ state parliament club. In addition, between 1984 and 1994 he was FSG staff representative in the Austrian Armed Forces and has the function of a board member in the SPÖ Graz area.
