from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This list of MPs to the Styrian Landtag (16th legislative period) lists all MPs to the Styrian Landtag in the XVI. Legislative period. The legislative period began on October 21, 2010. Before that, the Social Democratic Party of Austria (SPÖ) had defended the majority of votes it had only acquired for the first time in 2005 in the 2010 state elections , and achieved 23 of the 56 seats. However, this meant the loss of two mandates. The Austrian People's Party (ÖVP) also lost two seats in the state elections and has 22 members in the new legislative period. The third strongest force was the Freedom Party of Austria (FPÖ), which succeeded in re-entering the state parliament with six mandates. Fourth place went to Die Grünen - Die Grüne Alternative (GRÜNE), who were able to hold their three mandates, and the Communist Party of Austria (KPÖ) is represented in the state parliament with two members (previously four seats).

After the inauguration of the deputies on October 21, 2010, the state parliament elected the state government Voves II on the same day .

Functions

Landtag President

After Kurt Flecker (SPÖ) left, the former state councilor for the environment and sport, Manfred Wegscheider (SPÖ), was elected as the new state parliament president with 53 of 56 votes. Franz Majcen (ÖVP) was elected to the office of 2nd President of the State Parliament with 51 votes , while Ursula Lackner (SPÖ) received 49 votes as 3rd President of the State Parliament.

Member of the state parliament

The 56 state parliament mandates were awarded in four state electoral districts (WK). These were the Landtag constituencies 1 (Graz and the surrounding area) , 2 (West and South Styria) , 3 (East Styria) and 4 (Upper Styria) . Of the 56 mandates, eight mandates were given as remaining votes (R).

Of the 56 MPs, 16 are women; the state parliament thus has a proportion of women of 29%. The Greens have the highest proportion of women with 67%, followed by the KPÖ with 50%, the SPÖ with 30% and the ÖVP with a proportion of women of 27%. In contrast, the Freedom Party club consists only of men.
