Renate Bauer (born August 25, 1962 in Graz ) is an Austrian politician of the Social Democratic Party of Austria (SPÖ) and employee of the Austrian Federation of Trade Unions (ÖGB) in Graz. From 2010 to 2019 she was a member of the Styrian state parliament .

education and profession

After primary school in Stattegg and secondary school in Graz-Andritz , Bauer completed his education with a polytechnic course in Graz. She then completed an apprenticeship as an industrial clerk and attended vocational school in Mitterdorf in the Mürz valley .

Bauer works as an organizational assistant at the Austrian Federation of Trade Unions (ÖGB) in Graz.

Bauer began her political career in 2003. Since then she has held numerous positions:

2003–2005 SPÖ women chairwoman in Stattegg
since 2005 community treasurer and parliamentary group leader of the SPÖ in the community of Stattegg
since 2005 member of the board of the community representatives association
since 2005 local party chairman of the SPÖ in Stattegg

since 2008 district chairwoman of the SPÖ Graz-Umgebung
since 2009 deputy district chairwoman of the SPÖ Graz-Umgebung
since 2009 member of the state women’s executive committee and board
since 2009 member of the state party presidium and board
since 2010 parliamentary group secretary of the SPÖ parliamentary group in the Styrian Chamber of Agriculture
2010 to 2019 member of the Styrian state parliament
