Alexia Getzinger

Alexia Getzinger, MAS (born March 12, 1967 in Klagenfurt ) has been managing the commercial fortunes of the Universalmuseum Joanneum since January 1, 2018, alongside the scientific director Wolfgang Muchitsch . She is an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ) and cultural manager . From 2010 to 2015 she was a member of the Styrian Landtag . From July 2015 to December 2017 she was Vice President of the State School Council for Styria.

In addition to her work in the state parliament, in which she was the area spokesperson for education, culture, science and women, Getzinger is involved with Kinderfreunde Steiermark. On June 23, 2012, she was elected its state chairman. She is also the deputy federal chairwoman of Kinderfreunde Austria.

Getzinger is a Master of Advanced Studies (MAS) of the "European Executive Management Program for the Arts and Media" of the Johannes Kepler University Linz and the International Center for Cultural Management Salzburg. She is also an academically certified political advisor for the university course in Parliamentarism and Regional Politics at the Karl-Franzens University in Graz.

In cultural management, she was the founder and managing director of the TAG theateragenda , a non-profit employment project for the placement of long-term unemployed people at cultural institutions - in cooperation with AMS Steiermark and the Styrian Science, Environment and Culture Project Agency - as well as the founder and managing director of the Film and Media Academy Graz (fum) active.
