history
The name Stattegg is derived from the name of the castle that was built on a hill. The first syllable comes from "sta" ( Old High German : to stand), "eck / egg" "is a sharp terrain angle (around 120 degrees). Because the flat land on the mountain is there, it was called" Stadeck ".
In the Middle Ages, the Stadecker were an important ministerial family (servants of the sovereign). Its ancestral home was Stadeck Castle in today's Hub on the hill between the Huberwirt and the elementary school. They provided an archbishop of Salzburg (Archbishop Ulrich I. von Stadeck , 26th Archbishop of Salzburg, 1256–1265), a minstrel, Rudolf von Stadegge and several governors (Leutold von Stadeck (1255), Hartnid von Stadeck (1292–1299) , Leutold von Stadeck (1362–1364), Hans von Stadeck (1396–1398)). In 1400 they died out with the death of Hans von Stadeck and his son Leuthold.
The Stattegg Schlossberg has been used as a practice area by the Stattegg volunteer fire department since 1951 .
