Langegg bei Graz is a cadastral municipality east of Graz with 840 inhabitants (as of October 31, 2013) in Styria in the Graz-Umgebung district . Langegg was an independent municipality until the end of 2014. As part of the Styrian community structural reform , Langegg was incorporated into the political community of Nestelbach near Graz .

Geographical location

Langegg bei Graz is located about 15 km east of the provincial capital Graz in the Eastern Styrian hill country between the Mur valley and the Raab valley .

history

The place is mentioned for the first time in the sovereign Marchfutterurbar of 1268/69. The local community as an autonomous body was established in 1850. After the annexation of Austria in 1938, the community came to the Reichsgau Steiermark , 1945 to 1955 it was part of the British zone of occupation in Austria.

On January 1, 2015, Langegg was merged with the communities of Nestelbach bei Graz and Edelsgrub as part of the Styrian community structural reform , the new community is called "Nestelbach bei Graz".

The last mayor of the municipality, which was independent until 2014, was Josef Adler. After the 2010 elections, the municipal council was composed as follows: 7 ÖVP , 2 SPÖ

"In black a golden oblique step beam, in it a red fox."

After the amalgamation of the municipalities, Langegg's coat of arms was extinguished.

The Laßnitzhöhe junction (169) of the A 2 south motorway is around three kilometers from Langegg.

There is no train station in Langegg. The closest train station is about five kilometers away from the Laßnitzthal train station of the Styrian Eastern Railway , which offers hourly regional train connections to Graz and Gleisdorf .

The Graz Airport can be reached around 22 km away and on the highway.

Personalities

  • Johann Joseph Fux (around 1660–1741), baroque musician and court conductor, born in the village of Hirtenfeld.
