Attendorf was a municipality with 1823 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2015) in Styria in the Graz-Umgebung district . Since 2015 it has been merged with the municipalities of Hitzendorf and Rohrbach-Steinberg as part of the municipal structural reform , the new municipality continues to use the name "Hitzendorf".

Geographical location
The former municipal area is located approx. 10 km southwest of the provincial capital Graz am Lusenbach, a left tributary of the Kainach . The highest point in the area is 539 m above sea level. A. high Bock Kogel near the old city limits.

history
The local community as an autonomous body was established in 1850. After the annexation of Austria in 1938, the community came to the Reichsgau Steiermark, 1945 to 1955 it was part of the British zone of occupation in Austria.
In the community and its surroundings there were a number of small, economically not mineable ore and coal deposits, which belong to those of the Graz Paleozoic. They have been thoroughly examined.

The last mayor was Josef Aichinger. After the municipal council elections in Styria in 2010, the municipal council was composed as follows:

The municipal coat of arms was awarded with effect from July 1, 1992.
Blazon (coat of arms description):
- "In a red shield a bar of four blue, gold-fringed and gold-faceted diamonds, accompanied by three golden flax fruit bunches with three capsules each, and at the bottom by three fallen golden vine leaves."

Attendorf is on the road from Lieboch to Hitzendorf . The south autobahn A2 is nearby . The closest junctions are Mooskirchen (200) 8 km away and Unterpremstätten (188) 7 km away.
There is no train station in town, but the neighboring communities offer access to the Graz-Köflacher Railway : The Söding-Mooskirchen train station is five kilometers from the Graz - Köflach line and the Lieboch train station in addition to the Lieboch - Deutschlandsberg line .
The Graz Airport is about 15 km away.
The city of Graz can u. a. can be reached with the Watzke bus line 711.
