Hubert "Hubsi" Koller (born May 21, 1960 in Soboth ) is an Austrian politician of the Social Democratic Party of Austria (SPÖ) and civil servant. Koller was a member of the Austrian Federal Council from July 2015 to December 2019 . Before that, he was a member of the Styrian state parliament from December 2014 to June 2015 .

From May 1, 1982 to December 31, 2014, Koller was the head of the Soboth community. In addition, he was the managing director of the municipality's own operations. After the municipality was dissolved as a result of the Styrian municipal structural reform and incorporated into the municipality of Eibiswald , he lost these functions and was now from January 1, 2015 until the constitution of the new municipal council on the advisory board of government commissioner Josef Aldrian. Since January 1, 2015, he has been Head of Division for Construction and Property Management in the new market town of Eibiswald.

Political career

From 2004 to 2014 Koller was mayor of the municipality of Soboth , previously deputy mayor for eleven years. On December 16, 2014, Koller was sworn in in the Styrian state parliament. He thus succeeded Walter Kröpfl , who retired in November 2014 after around 40 years in local and regional politics . In the 2015 municipal council elections for the new large community of Eibiswald, which took place on March 22, 2015, Koller was the SPÖ's top candidate. In June 2015, after being passed by the state parliament, he was sent to the Austrian Federal Council by the newly elected state parliament members as one of the representatives of Styria . He is a member of the state party executive. After the state elections in 2019 , he resigned from the Federal Council on December 16, 2019.

He was a board member of the § 4/3-er Verband Tourismusverband Südliche Weststeiermark and board member of the association Energieregion Schilcherland, which includes all communities in the political district of Deutschlandsberg .
