Andrea-Michaela Schartel (born June 30, 1964 in Graz ) is an Austrian politician of the Freedom Party of Austria (FPÖ). From 2014 to 2018 she was a member of the Styrian state parliament . From January 2018 to October 2019 she was a member of the National Council . Since December 17, 2019, she has been a member of the Austrian Federal Council delegated by the Styrian Landtag .

Schartel first came into contact with politics at the age of fourteen, when she joined the Ring of Freedom Youth . From 1993 to 1998 she was a district councilor in the Graz district of Lend . From 2008 to 2013 she was the deputy district head in Graz- Wetzelsdorf . In 1988 she moved for the first time in the council one of the city Graz. In 2003 she had to leave this again.

In January 2013 Schartel again moved into the Graz municipal council. She held the mandate until June 30, 2014.

Schartel also represented freedom workers as a member of the Styrian Chamber of Labor for 15 years . She is the state chairwoman of the Initiative for Freedom of Women (IFF) and has been the federal representative since October 2014. In addition, she is the chairwoman of the FPÖ district group Wetzelsdorf.

On July 1, 2014, Schartel was sworn in in the Styrian state parliament as the successor to the previous liberal club boss Georg Mayer , who moved to the European Parliament as a member of the European Parliament . After elementary school and secondary school, Schartel attended the higher federal college for economic professions in Graz-Schrödingerstraße from September 1981 to October 1983 . Between October 1983 and July 1988, she graduated from courses for accountants and accountants, as well as a course for payroll at the Economic Development Institute of Styria. Between March 2005 and July 2006 she attended an intensive course in labor and social insurance law with a diploma at the Academy of Public Accountants.

Since March 1, 1998, Schartel has been the head of the payroll department of a tax consultancy. Before that, she was a trainer in adult education from 1995 to 1996 and was responsible for accounting and payroll accounting at the Anton Afritsch Children's Village, and from October 1, 1997 to February 28, 1998, she was a personal processor at ECO WT GmbH. In addition, from January 2003 to January 15, 2013, Schartel was an independent personal processor. Schartel is currently self-employed as a personal processor and has been managing director of RSP Personalverrechnungs GmbH since 2013.

Private

Schartel lives in Graz. She is married and has two children.
