Gunter Hadwiger (born March 28, 1949 in Villach ) is an Austrian politician of the Freedom Party of Austria (FPÖ). From 2010 to 2015 he was a member of the Styrian state parliament .

politics

From 2003 to 2005 Hadwiger was a treasurer on the board of the regional FPÖ Voitsberg. In 2005 he was elected deputy district chairman before he took over the function of chairman in 2007.

On October 21, 2010 Hadwiger was sworn in as a member of the Styrian state parliament. There he was spokesman for the FPÖ for health and care, security, business, research and science, culture and tourism. Hartwiger's first request to Regional Councilor Kristina Edlinger-Ploder on the subject of "Hospital locations in Styria" was made in the 2nd session of the Landtag .

There was already excitement before he was sworn in, because Hadwiger answered the question “How do you feel about National Socialism ?” In an interview with the Kleine Zeitung “I hope neutral. It wasn't really all bad, but I don't indulge in ideology. It's not so great when you 're in favor of home and being addressed as a Nazi. ”His membership of the Academic Aviation Association Wieland-Staufen Graz , whose motto is“ Upwards, sonnenwärts - German and loyal ”, was just as irritating as its use that sequence from Franz Liszt's symphonic poem “Les Preludes” from the mid-19th century, which was used by the National Socialists at the beginning of the German newsreel from June 1941, the period of the attack on the Soviet Union , and for which the term Russia Fanfare is common as an intro for his homepage. The state chairman of the KPÖ Styria, Franz-Stephan Parteder, asked him to resign because of these statements before the swearing-in. The Styrian FPÖ chairman Gerhard Kurzmann was convinced that Hadwiger was misquoted.
