Josef Ober

Josef Ober (born January 26, 1958 ) is an Austrian politician ( ÖVP ). Ober is the mayor of Feldbach and was a member of the Styrian state parliament from 2000 to 2015 .

education and profession

Obers parents were farmers who ran a small farm with around 5 hectares of usable area. He was born the fifth of seven children, and he has a twin sister. He attended elementary and secondary school from 1964 to 1973 and then completed an apprenticeship as a bricklayer from 1973 to 1976. As a result, he continued his education at the building trade school between 1978 and 1980 and completed an apprenticeship as a building foreman. Between 1980 and 1981 he did his military service in the "Von-der-Groeben-Kaserne" in Feldbach and between 1985 and 1988 he attended the HTBLA for structural engineering. In 1989 he passed the state building service examination and was an expert for disaster damage for five years. In addition, he worked for twelve years as head of road maintenance for federal and state roads in the Feldbach and Radkersburg districts. Upper bears the status of engineer . politics

Ober became mayor of Auersbach in 1989 and chairman of the municipal council for the Feldbach district in 1991. In 1992 he was also elected ÖAAB district chairman for Feldbach. He represented the ÖVP from 2000 to 2015 in the Styrian state parliament. There he was spokesman for waste and sewage management in the ÖVP state parliament club. Since the municipal structural reform in 2015 he has been mayor of the "New City of Feldbach".
