Barbara Hollomey

Barbara Hollomey (born October 24, 1957 ) is an Austrian politician for the Austrian People's Party (ÖVP) and a teacher. She has been a member of the Styrian State Parliament since 2014 , where she succeeded Kristina Edlinger-Ploder , who was appointed Vice- Rector of the Medical University of Graz on September 1, 2014 . In June 2015 she left the state parliament.

Hollomey is the women's chairwoman of FCG Styria and the regional board of the Styrian Austrian Workers' Union (ÖAAB). In addition, she is a member of the supervisory board of the Styrian Vocational Promotion Institute (BFI).

On September 23, 2014, Hollomey, who was proposed by Deputy Governor and ÖVP boss Hermann Schützenhöfer , was sworn in in the state parliament. She gave her first speech in the state parliament on December 16, 2014 in which she commented on the Court of Auditors report on university institutions. She was the spokesperson for science and research in the state parliament. After the ÖVP suffered severe losses in the state elections, it left the state parliament in June 2015.

education and profession

Hollomey studied German and history and graduated with a Magistra . She is a middle school teacher at the Bundesrealgymnasium Körösi in Graz and has the professional title of senior teacher . She is also a lecturer at the Institute for History at the University of Graz .

Private

Hollomey is married to the architect Ralf Hollomey and has two children.
