Stenschino ( Russian Стеньшино ) is a village (Selo) in the Russian Oblast Tambov with 47 inhabitants (2007).
Stenschino is located in Petrovskoye Rajon , in the far west of Tambov Oblast, about 370 kilometers south-southeast of Moscow . The place is part of the rural municipality Nowositowski . Stenschino is located directly on the border with Lipetsk Oblast and is only 25 kilometers from its administrative center Lipetsk and the city of Gryazi . The nearest town within the Raion Tambov is 40 km north-east located Michurinsk . Stenschino has no rail link.
Stenschino, then part of the Ujesd Lipetsk, is the birthplace of Alexander Nikolajewitsch Lodygin (1847–1923), a pioneer in electrical engineering and inventor in the field of light bulb manufacture.
