Bernd Stöhrmann

Bernd Stöhrmann (born November 11, 1944 in Mitterdorf im Mürz Valley ) is a former Austrian politician ( SPÖ ). From 1999 to 2007 Stöhrmann was a member of the Styrian state parliament and mayor of Mitterdorf.

Life

After finishing primary and secondary school, Stöhrmann learned the trade of mechanic, but later changed his occupation and was employed by an insurance company.

Politically, Stöhrmann was active as a councilor in Mitterdorf im Mürz Valley from 1970 and was vice mayor between 1973 and 1975. In 1975, at the age of 30, he was elected mayor of Mitterdorf in Mürz Valley. In 1999 he was sworn in as a member of the Styrian state parliament, and he was also involved in the association of municipalities. In May 1986 he took over the office of district chairman of the Styrian Association of Municipalities for the Mürzzuschlag district and was vice-president of the association from 1995. Stöhrmann resigned from the state parliament on November 11, 2007.
