Karl Wiedner

Karl Wiedner (born March 5, 1953 in Graz ) is an Austrian coffee house operator and former politician ( FPÖ / List Hirschmann). Wiedner was a member of the Styrian state parliament from 1996 to 2005.

education and profession

Wiedner completed the elementary school in Lebring and the secondary school in Wildon before he switched to the commercial school in Leibnitz . As a result, he attended the federal high school for working people in Wiener Neustadt . He began his professional career in 1971 as an employee of the Sparkasse Wildon, from 1980 he worked at the Theresian Military Academy , where he was trained as a career officer. In 1983 he was retired as a lieutenant . Wiedner was used as an officer in Bad Radkersburg and Straß in Styria before becoming a major in 1992disarmed. He then went into business for himself as the owner of the Steirer Cafe in Lebring.

Politics and functions

Wiedner was active as a councilor in Lebring between 1995 and 2005 and was a member of the Styrian state parliament between January 12, 1996 and October 25, 2005. In the Landtag Committee for Infrastructure and the Regional Planning Advisory Council, he held the function of chairman for two Landtag periods. Within the party, he was FPÖ state party secretary from 2000 to 2005, and in 1998 he was elected FPÖ district chairman Leibnitz. On August 12, 2005, Wiedner resigned from all his functions in the Freedom Party and switched to the "Hirschmann List" team, for which he ran as the top candidate in constituency 2 behind party founder Gerhard Hirschmann himself in second place on the list. As the Hirschmann list clearly missed entry into the state parliament, Wiedner subsequently ended his political career. Wiedner is active as a functionary in the Chamber of Commerce, where, among other things, he holds the position of deputy chairman.
