Antonie Brehmer-Gaffron (born May 28, 1833 in Breslau , † July 4, 1908 in Trieste ) was a German writer .

Life

She was born as the daughter of Major Karl von Gaffron and thus belonged to an old Silesian noble family . Her older sister was the writer Auguste Hyrtl . She came to Trieste in 1857. After her sister Mathilde (1825-1896) divorced her husband, the secret general inspector Theodor Brehmer, Antonie married him, who now bore the double name Brehmer-Gaffron. Her husband died in 1880.

Brehmer-Gaffron mainly wrote poems, which were also published from 1869. The volume of poetry Aus der Fremde was created in collaboration with her son Arthur Brehmer (1858–1923), who also became a writer.
