Antonio Brencich (born August 17, 1966 in Milan ) is an Italian civil engineer.

Brencich received his Laureate Degree in Structural Engineering from the University of Genoa and received his PhD in 1996 from the Turin Polytechnic with a dissertation on fracture mechanics. He is Assistant Professor (Professore Associato) for Structural Engineering at the University of Genoa. He teaches steel and prestressed concrete construction and traffic engineering.

From 2009 he was the technical director of the university's civil engineering laboratory.

He researches fracture mechanics in concrete and brittle materials, bridges made of steel and masonry and the characterization of the durability of concrete.

He advocated the demolition of the Polcevera Viaduct by Riccardo Morandi in Genoa and, for example, sharply criticized its design in 2016. In Genoa there was a heated political discussion about the question of demolition or further renovation. In 2018 the bridge collapsed. Brenchic was appointed a member of the commission of inquiry.

Antonio Brencich lives in Genoa.
