Antonio Mateos

Antonio Mateos Luna y Menjibar (born before 1954) is a Spanish prop master and production designer who received an Oscar for best production design at the 1971 Academy Awards for the war film Patton - Rebel in Uniform (1970) .

Life

Mateos began his career in the film industry in 1954 as a prop master in France and Spain and was involved in the equipment of the film El Torero and Un día perdido for the first time in 1954 . In the course of his career he worked as a prop master and set designer on over 100 films.

For his work as a set designer in the war film Oscar for best production design (1970), which was also one of his few internationally known films, he received the Oscar for best production design at the 1971 Academy Awards, together with Urie McCleary , Gil Parrondo and Pierre-Louis Thévenet .

Most recently, in 2000, he worked as a prop master on the creation of Manuel Estudillo's film Jara .
