Anu Mänd

Anu Mänd (born February 22, 1968 ) is an Estonian historian.

Life

Anu Mänd studied art history at the University of Tartu from 1986 to 1992 . From 1986 to 1992 and 1995/96 she studied at the Central European University in Budapest, where she received a master’s degree . From 1996 to 2000 she did research here for her doctorate with Gerhard Jaritz , which she completed summa cum laude . Her research focuses on the Middle Ages, especially life and celebration and rituals in the medieval city.

From 1992 to 1995 she worked in the Tartu University Library. Since 2003 she has been Senior Researcher at the Institute for History at the University of Tartu.

In 2010 she received the Villem Raam Prize .
