‣ Topic  overview

The anus piercing is a piercing of the anus . The puncture canal runs between the inside of the anal sphincter and the perineum . It can be worn by both women and men.

The piercing is relatively new and one of the rather rare piercings. In the 17th century, however, the researcher John Bulwer is said to have written about a piercing on the buttocks in his book Man Transform'd : “In addition to other strange decorative practices in different countries, I remember that of a people who displayed a kind of absurd bravura Pierced holes in the buttocks to hang valuable gems there. This has to be a very uncomfortable fashion and also extremely detrimental to a sedentary existence. "

An anal piercing makes anal hygiene more difficult and comes into contact with a particularly large number of pathogens when defecating , which leads to a high risk of infection. During certain activities (for example cycling) pressure can be put on the piercing.
