Anyue

Anyue ( Chinese  安岳 縣  /  安岳 县 , Pinyin Ānyuè Xiàn ) is a district of the prefecture -level city of Ziyang in the Chinese province of Sichuan . In 1999 it had 1,528,158 inhabitants.

The Anyue Grottoes (Ānyuè shíkū 安岳 石窟), the sculptures of the Vairocana Grotto (Piludong) (Pí lú dòng shíkè zàoxiàng 毗卢 洞 石刻 造像) and the Mumen Temple (Mumen si 木门 寺) are on the list of monuments of the People's Republic of China (Sichuan) .
