Aobh is a female legend from the Celtic mythology of Ireland .

She is the daughter of Bodb Dearg and the wife of Lir , king of the Túatha Dé Danann . After giving birth to twins twice, she dies in childbed. Her children, Fionnuala, Aed , Fiachra and Conn, are to be killed at the will of her sister Aoife , Lir's second wife, instead she turns a compassionate servant into swans. According to another version, Aoife, gripped by remorse, is said to have transformed the children themselves. This tale is passed down as Oidheadh ​​Chlainne Lir ("The story of the children of Lir").

In another version, she marries Manannan mac Lir , Lir's son.
