Apache Giraph is a distributed graph analysis system that is used in processing data on social networks .

development

Giraph is based on a publication published by Google in 2010 on their graph analysis system Pregel and was first developed by Yahoo and then passed on to the Apache Software Foundation . In May 2012 Giraph became an independent software project there.

technology

Giraph is based on Hadoop and thus enables the analysis of large amounts of data . It is an extension of Hadoop's Map Reduce implementation.

commitment

In addition to Yahoo, Apache Giraph has also been used by Facebook since 2013 to operate its own search functions . With the help of the software on 200 servers, one trillion (10 12 ) edges could be evaluated in 4 minutes.
