Apostle House (Leipzig)
The Apostelhaus, built in 1740 at 20 Apostelstrasse in Leipzig, is the last of originally 12 servants' houses - popularly known as "the Twelve Apostles " - for workers from the former manor farm in the village of Lindenau , which was incorporated into Leipzig in 1891. The single-storey building with a mansard roof is the oldest building and the last evidence of suburban rural construction in Lindenau before 1800. It is located in the area of the western retreat area of the Napoleonic army in October 1813 and is therefore still a direct witness of the Battle of the Nations . It is currently threatened with demolition.
