AppleTalk Session Protocol

AppleTalk Session Protocol (ASP) is a term from computer science .

The AppleTalk Session Protocol , or ASP for short , is a protocol that enables secure data transport in an AppleTalk network. ASP is an extension of the AppleTalk Transaction Protocol and allows two processes to exchange transactions and commands.

It is defined in RFC 1742 .

The protocol belongs to the session layer .
