AppleTalk Echo Protocol
AppleTalk Echo Protocol (AEP) is a term used in computer science .
The AppleTalk Echo Protocol , or AEP for short , is a protocol for testing components in an AppleTalk network, comparable to ping in IP networks.
It is defined in RFC 1742 .
The protocol belongs to the transport layer .
