Plot

Pluots , Apriums , Apriplums and Plumcots are crosses between Chinese plum or cherry plum or hybrids of the two and apricot . Plumcots and Apriplums are first generation hybrids . Pluots and apriums only arise through breeding after several generations ( variety formation ). The fruits are characterized by the fact that they are particularly sweet and have small seeds.

Plumcots / Apriplums

In nature, plumcots and apriplums have been found in all parts of the world for hundreds of years, where both plums and apricots grow. The name Plumcot was introduced by Luther Burbank .

Pluots

Pluots have a smooth surface that, like the pulp, is strongly reminiscent of plums. Pluots were developed by Floyd Zaiger in the late twentieth century. “Pluot” is a registered trademark of Zaiger's Genetics.

Apriums

Apriums are complex breeds that show more apricot influences, as three of the trees of the grandparents' generation are apricots. “Aprium” is a registered trademark of Zaiger's Genetics.
