The Ara Rock is a monolithic rock formation near Ara Town in the state of Nassarawa , close to the border with the state of Federal Capital Territory in central Nigeria . It towers over the surrounding plain by about 120 meters and is a popular destination for visitors to the city of Ara. In addition, festivals and cultural events are held annually on the rock.
