Arab Democratic Party (Israel)
The Arab Democratic Party - Hebrew מפלגה דמוקרטית ערבית Miflaga Demokratit Aravit , Arabic ألحزب الديمقراطي العربي al-Hizb al-Dimuqrati al-Arabi - is a party in Israel , where it mainly uses its acronym Mada ( Hebrew מד"ע) is known.
It was founded during the 11th Knesset by Abdul Wahab Darawshe , a member of the HaMa'arach and a member of the Labor Party , on February 15, 1988 in protest against his party's attitude towards the first Intifada as a parliamentary group.
Its political goals include the recognition of the PLO , the creation of a Palestinian state of its own and equality for Arab Israelis in Israel.
Between 1996 and 2012, the Mada was a separate part of the United Arab List ( Hebrew רשימה ערבית מאוחדת( Reshima Aravit Meuhedet ) / Arabic ألقائمة العربية الموحدة al-Qā'ima al-ʿArabiyya al-Muwahhada , DMG al-qāʾima al-ʿarabīya al-muwaḥḥada , acronym Ra'am ), until her deputy Talab El-Sana left the parliamentary group in December 2012. In the elections for the 19th Knesset in early 2013, El-Sana ran again on a joint list, but did not succeed in moving back into the Knesset because he was fifth on the list, but the Ra'am only received four seats.
