Araboğlu Hacı Melidon Kalfa
Araboğlu Hacı Melidon Kalfa († 1735 or September / October 1742) was an Armenian court architect of the 18th century . He was in the service of the Ottoman sultans Ahmet III from 1717 to 1735 . and Mahmut I. In 1734 he built the Hekimoğlu Ali Pasha Mosque .
Life
His birth and death dates are unknown. It is possible that he died in 1735. The Turkish encyclopedia Dünden Bugüne Istanbul Ansiklopedisi assumes the date of death September / October 1742. Melidon Araboğlu was the only child of a poor family. He came from the village of Darsiyah near Gassaria , today Kayseri .
Melidon Araboğlu was the most influential Armenian of his time in the Ottoman civil service.
