Arachnophilia is (English for "Spider Love"), a configurable HTML editor , which by many pre macros for writing HTML - source code can be used. It offers many auxiliary functions (“ wizards ”) to implement HTML solutions more quickly. The editor can also be used for other programming languages ​​such as Java , JavaScript , Perl , C , C ++ etc. and offers syntax highlighting .

The special thing about this editor is that almost all Arachnophilia menus and toolbar elements are represented internally by a “macro” and these can be individually expanded, changed or deleted. A German language package is also available for the English-language program.

history

As of version 5, Arachnophilia is a platform-independent Java program . Before that it was written for Windows systems. The author Paul Lutus did not agree with the product activation of Windows XP , so he reprogrammed the editor in Java and published it on November 3, 2002. Since then, the software also runs on Linux or Mac OS X .
