Arantza Ezenarro

Arantza Ezenarro (born June 24, 1980 in San Sebastián ) is a Spanish opera, operetta, oratorio, lieder and concert singer with a soprano voice .

Life and artistic work

After graduating from high school, she studied for teaching at the University of the Basque Country . But she decided to study music, majoring in singing, at the Conservatory in San Sebastián. At the age of 22, Arantza Ezenarro went to Madrid to complete her vocal studies (Madrid School of Music) under the direction of Carmen Rodriguez Aragón and received her diploma in 2006. In 2007 she received her diploma at the University of Music and Theater in Munich . She completed master classes with Edith Wiens .

In 2008 the soprano made her debut at the Bavarian Theater Academy in the Prinzregententheater as Rezia in the opera Les pèlerins de la Mecque ( The Pilgrims of Mekka ) by Christoph Willibald Gluck . From 2008 to 2010 Arantza Ezanarro was a permanent member of the ensemble at the Ulm Theater . There she sang the following roles, among others: Susanna in Le nozze di Figaro , Adele in Die Fledermaus , Amor in Orfeo ed Euridice , Clarice in Il mondo della luna and Pamina in Die Zauberflöte .

The soprano, who received a Bayreuth scholarship in 2010, works as an oratorio, lied and concert singer in addition to her theater engagement. In 2010 she performed a recital with works by Rossini at the Nymphenburg Palace Concerts .

In February 2011 the freelance soprano made her debut as Adele in Die Fledermaus at the Semperoper . In the summer of 2011 Arantza sang the role of Fiordiligi in Così fan tutte at the Festival Ópera en el Convento on the Canary Island of La Palma. During the 2011/12 season she made guest appearances at the Wuppertaler Bühnen as Armida in the Mozart opera La finta giardiniera and in the German premiere of the fairy tale opera Ali Baba and the 40 Robbers by Selman Ada . In the 2013/14 season she played the role of the air spirit in the production of König Arthur at the Dresden State Theater.
