The electoral association Arbeit für Gera eV (AfG) was an independent electoral group that existed from 1999 to 2018 and was represented in the city council of the independent city of Gera .

history

Arbeit für Gera was founded in 1999 and emerged from the “Business Working Group”. At the first vote in the city council elections on June 12, 1999, 9.9% of the votes and thus five city council mandates were obtained straight away. In the 2004 and 2009 city council elections, the association achieved double-digit results; In 2004 she was even the third strongest force in the city council before the SPD . For the 2014 election, the association formed a joint list with the Free Voters Gera, but the group of voters had to accept losses and the halving of their city council seats from six to three. On February 1, 2016, the members of the AfG joined the new city council group “Liberal Alliance”. On July 25, 2018, the then 24 members unanimously resolved to dissolve the voters' association.
