The workers' settlement Helfmannstraße is a housing estate in the southern Hessian town of Kelsterbach . It was built in the years 1899/1900 as a workers' settlement by the public limited company for civil engineering of the local entrepreneur Philipp Helfmann on behalf of the Süddeutsche Waggonfabrik AG .

The workers' estate was built on an open space northeast of the factory premises between the highway to Rüsselsheim and the Mainz – Frankfurt railway line . It consists of nine free-standing, identical houses that are lined up along a short cul-de-sac. There was direct access to the plant between the two southernmost houses.

The two-storey houses provided shelter for six families on each of the two full storeys and the converted attic. The plastered facade is adorned with pilaster-like ornaments and window frames made of red brick. At the top, the buildings are closed with a typical half-hip roof . Small kitchen gardens and wooden sheds in the areas facing away from the street reinforced the uniform impression of the ensemble.

After the Glanzstoff factory was closed in January 2000 (most recently: Enka GmbH , subsequent users of the factory premises since 1904), the now neglected houses were privatized and renovated by City 1 Group GmbH until 2004 .
