Hein Lehmann AG workers' settlement

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Hein Lehmann AG workers' housing estate at Heideweg 1 to 23 in Monheim - Baumberg was built from 1952 to 1956 as a factory housing estate for the steel construction company Hein Lehmann AG , based on designs by the Düsseldorf architect Paul Schneider-Esleben . Schneider-Esleben's housing development is considered to be an example of modern housing construction.

Two-story houses were built in two rows at a distance of about 50 meters. The housing estates were built in bulkheads. Between the brick bulkheads, the front facades have been designed with white plaster. Small rectangular windows break through the front facade. The facade on the garden side shows a large glass surface. The garden front shows a pent roof that is slightly inclined, which means that the garden front is slightly higher than the facade at the front.
