Work permit

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The right to work was in the GDR a proof on the ability of workers to perform work, under the legislation of a special aptitude required (§ 214 Labor Code (GTC)).

The work, for the execution of which a work permit was required, was usually expressly mentioned in standards in the field of health and safety at work and fire safety , in the safety at work orders (ASAO) or the fire safety order (BAO). It was about work that required additional qualification requirements in health and safety at work because of the specific work equipment or work processes or the special nature of the workplaces (e.g. crane drivers, welders) .

In the interests of safe and healthy working conditions, the company was therefore only allowed to entrust this work to workers who had the appropriate work permit. He had to carry out the necessary qualification measures in accordance with § 13 ASVO (1) and, as a result , to issue the right to work in the form of written evidence ( proof of entitlement , certificate, permit, passport or similar).
