Working group of Palatinate artists

The Arbeitsgemeinschaft pfälzer Künstler (apk) is the most traditional artists' association in Rhineland-Palatinate . It strives for the union of the visual artists associated with the Palatinate by origin or place of residence.

history

It was founded on January 16, 1922 under the name Bund Pfälzer Kunst as a self-help organization for artists with the participation of the Palatinate industrial establishment in Neustadt an der Weinstrasse . Albert Haueisen , Max Slevogt and Hans Purrmann were among the founding members . The purpose at that time was to hold exhibitions and to collect and document Palatine art. The working group was dissolved in 1933 and re-established in 1948 as the working group Palatinate Artists .
