Albert Haueisen
Albert Haueisen (born July 7, 1872 in Stuttgart , † February 5, 1954 in Kandel (Palatinate) ) was a German painter . He was a late impressionist , taught at the Karlsruhe Art Academy and was a founding member of the Palatinate Artists Working Group .
Life
As the son of an architect, he came to the Karlsruhe Art Academy at the age of 15. There he was a master student of Leopold von Kalckreuth and Hans Thoma . He later studied at the Munich Art Academy and returned to Karlsruhe in 1905 as a teacher and later director of the Art Academy.
In 1933 he resigned because of political influence in the art academy, but was briefly appointed head of the Reich Chamber of Fine Arts for the Gau Westmark . In 1934 the sculptor Theobald Hauck succeeded him in this position.
Haueisen's grave is in the cemetery in Jockgrim in the district of Germersheim .
Since 1979 the district of Germersheim has been writing every two years together with the Association for the Promotion of Art and Culture e. V. awarded the Albert Haueisen Art Prize to promote local artists.
