Working group of independent women
The Working Group of Unmarried Women (AUF) , today Pro Single Switzerland , is an association based in Zurich . This was founded in Olten in 1975 and later renamed the Working Group of Independent Women (ARGE-AUF) . According to its own statements, the AUF is the only Swiss organization that supports single and single women. The declared aim is, in particular, the social and legal equality of single women (female singles ). In 2004, the AUF had around 1000 members from all over Switzerland.

According to statements by the AUF, single women are legally at a disadvantage compared to married or divorced women and men. This applies in particular to the following areas:
- Benefits in the AHV
- the Occupational Pension Act (BVG)
- the coordination deduction
- the pension funds
- the Health Insurance Act (KVG)
- the VVG and the supplementary insurance
- the taxes
- in particular inheritance taxation
Means of action
The AUF acts in particular through public relations work (raising awareness) and lobbying politicians. A quarterly bulletin provides information on various topics, but also on the work of the AUF.
