Working group for software quality and advanced training

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Software Quality and Advanced Training Working Group (ASQF) enables the exchange of experience in the areas of quality management and software development and supports the transfer of knowledge between software developers and quality managers from industry, research and teaching.

The association, which emerged from a project funded by the European Union, was founded in Erlangen in 1996 under the name Arbeitskreis Software-Qualität Franken . Only when it expanded to other (federal) states was the "F" renamed to advanced training. The association's office is also located in Erlangen.

Large companies, medium-sized companies, universities and research institutions as well as employees from the software quality sector are involved in the ASQF. The association currently has around 1,400 members. Members and interested parties can discuss current issues in a total of ten specialist groups in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

The ASQF GmbH

In order to deepen the complex problems in the area of software quality and to finance the extensive free offer of the eV, the association founded the ASQF GmbH. The GmbH, now merged with iSQI GmbH, was responsible in particular for the implementation of the extensive seminar and training program on specific software quality issues.

Countless standards and norms have developed in the qualification of employees in the software area. The members of the ASQF therefore advocate internationally recognized certification schemes that are independent of individual training companies. The international comparability of the qualification levels is the aim of the activities.

That is why specialists in independent working groups have been developing the training standards of the ASQF-Certified program since 2001. Representatives from industry, training providers as well as research and teaching from the entire German-speaking area and many countries worldwide are involved. They develop the curricula, exam questions and decide on the accreditation of training companies.

ISQI GmbH

The development, support and international establishment of the certified training programs soon resulted in an effort that reached the limits of the association's performance. With the support of the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs and the Software-Forum Bayern eV (Software-Offensive Bayern), ASQF GmbH founded the International Software Quality Institute (iSQI GmbH) in 2004 .

The iSQI organizes a software quality conference once a year with an international specialist audience. The Conference on Quality Engineering in Software Technology (CONQUEST), which has so far taken place in Nuremberg, is one of the most important German specialist conferences on the subject of software quality. In 2006 the conference took place in Berlin for the first time. In 2007 and 2008 the conference took place at the iSQI site in Potsdam. In 2009 the conference took place again in Nuremberg. In 2010 the conference took place from September 20th to 22nd in Dresden.

Since 2007 the iSQI has been organizing the international conference “international SPICE Days” together with iNTACS eV. The conference deals with the topic SPICE , or better ISO / IEC 15504-5. In 2007 the conference took place in Frankfurt am Main. In 2008 the conference venue was Prague. In 2009 the conference took place in Stuttgart. It was last held there in 2010.

Merger of ASQF GmbH and iSQI GmbH

ASQF eV decided to merge the two subsidiaries ASQF GmbH and iSQI GmbH to form iSQI GmbH with effect from August 2006. The merger of the business areas is intended to increase transparency and strengthen the members' rights of participation.
